266, Should I try Classified Ads for my Website? Posted by happyslob, Tue Feb-13-07 08:59 AM
Hi everyone,
I'm still trying to promote my ebook: "The Happy Slob's Guide to Housecleaning." One thing I haven't tried yet is a traditional classified ad. Do you think this would work with something like an ebook? Or, should I just promote the free newsletter that way?
Any suggestions would be so appreciated! Thanks all, Christina

Hi Christina, Our local newspapers will create a new colum for your classified ad if it doesn't fit into any other catagory they have created. I don't remember seeing anything for books, but that doesn't mean the ad wouldn't work. If it is not very expensive, and you can afford it, I would try it one time. You never know, you may get something going that others always said wouldn't work. If you want to place a classified online, you can go to http://www.cyberhosted.com/adlandpro.html and place one on my classifieds page for Free.

Thanks, that's a great tip! I still might try it eventually, just to experiment with different advertising techniques. :) I'll come back and post here and tell you how it goes when I do eventually give it a try.
Take care, Christina

What about online classified ads? Have you tried them?
I received several leads using free online classified ads. The key I've found is writing a good benefit statement that captures the readers attention.
I basically giveaway a free ebook to capture the person's name & email address for follow-up marketing.
It's not my main focus for marketing, but it does work as I keep my ads current.
The site below has plenty of free resources for classified ads:

Have you tried ClickBank to market it? If so what was your results? Reason I am asking is because I have an eBook I'm getting ready to release and am considering ClickBank.
Also I just found out about some cheap ezine advertising at http://www.partenon.com that has really cheap ezine advertising. You might try that also.
