Posted by duggie, Sun Jan-24-10 10:58 PM
I build tables benches etc. from driftwood and am looking for sites such as etsy to sell my products. I'm not interested in a wbsite ( been there tried that not going back) Presently my prod are being sold by 2 consignment stores but I would like to increase sales. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would check into EBay and Amazon. /ebay Stores have 2 options a basic store for $15.95 per month or a Premium store for 49.95 per month. Amazons WebStores setup is very simple and slightly more user friendly than ebay stores and also includes some bells and whistles that you might not expect. For instance the store is hosted on your own website (hear me out) a factor that may increase your search engine rankings and increase traffic. This may have been the problem with your experience with your last website. Anazon stores are pricer per month 59.95, but the ease of use and value of being on Amazon with it's security and feature rich services make the extra price worth it. BEst yet Amazon offers a 30 day trial so you can try it out.

What about creating your own site but this time using a blog? They can be easier to manage, you can update it more frequently and you can include product pictures etc. I think trying to do it online without at least a blog or site of your own somewhere is a mistake.

You must not dismiss the internet as a major source for leads and sales.
That's where your next door neighbor will find you, believe that.

A blog is a simple and free way of getting your products online. Try a Squidoo page because that is such a simple way to get started. The categories are focused closely so you should find your niche there. Free works for me, too. Check out one "lens" (page, that is) I have at

It took about 15 minutes to create.

Free places on the web to promote you and your products--isn't the net a marvelous thing?

I learned how to do this and you can, too.
Look for the FREE Squidoo guide at the website below.
