Hi I just opened a new gift & assortments store and I need
help.

It is in a high traffic area but is still not getting alot of
business.

I am trying to advertise, bacause that is the only way I see
that I could bring in customers, by making flyer's and
refering friends.

But it is still not really working.

What I really need help on is how to get in customers. Do you
have any ideas?

I sell gifts for every occassion plus other little
accessories, like vases, jewelery, candles, cards, picture
frames, flowers, chocalate, stuffed animals, etc.

Do you think my business will make it? Do you have any ides on
how I could make it better?

I always recommend the good old press release to jump start your business. If you haven't done so yet, do it immediately! A press release is the ultimate in FREE advertising.

I wrote my own press release for my children's shop and the results were astounding. I emailed it to two local newspapers. One responded within 30 minutes! A great, half page article with lots of color pictures soon followed. The second paper took much longer to respond but also printed another great article with pictures. From those articles, more followed from various other newspapers for a full year! (A tv producer called too!)

Look here to see the little book that I used to quickly learn how to write the press release (scroll down to Advertising/Marketing):

Good luck with your new business!

Hi,
My recommendation to you is to first start out with your loyal customers. Give them the "and then some" service because your repeat buyers will recommend you if they love the service. Remember people buy for two reasons: 1. To feel good 2. To solve a problem.

G' Luck to ya!!!!
