845, Keepsakes For Businesses Posted by virtualwhispers, Thu Mar-01-07 03:45 PM
I just learned how to make these collages and Im still learning new techniques. I have only made them for family so far, but I would love to do them for businesses also.

I would like to make up an example collage to show businesses, if there was an area they could use something like this. Ive been trying to think of how I can use these for a business but havent been able to come up with any ideas.
Im hoping maybe someone on this board will have some.

The possibilities for this are endless! You could promote to businesses that hold special events --- corporate picnics, tradeshow happenings, chamber of commerce ribbon cutting events, virtually any activity that would allow a business to feature itself!
Hope that gets your ideas flowing!
I know I'd be interested in having something like this in my store (once i get to open, that is!) Imagine a business being able to capture its most memorable events and having them displayed on the wall for all to see!
Good Luck!!:D

I would also like to get into doing something with babies. Not just a collage, but something unusual and fancy with the collage.

Do you do these is photoshop? I taught myself how to do these and they are addicting. How about hooking up with a photographer in the area and offer your services (that is why I taught myself since I worked for a photographer and he would shoot weddings so I would do him up an 11X14 or 16X20 and they would sell and make him the big bucks) If I knew then what I know now I would have also charged him the big bucks LOL.

Laura, yes I use Photoshop to do these and you are right, they are very addicting to do. Im still in the process of learning this, they are coming out better the more I practice.
How much does you photographer charge for the 11x14 and 16x20 ?

He tends to do a lot of friends of friends type of things so I think his 11X14 is between $75-$100. I know that other photographers charge MUCH more than that for a collage, so test to see how long it takes you to do one so you will know how much to charge. I know that some days are more creative than others for me so sometime a 1/2 hour collage can take me well over an hour if the juice aren't flowing. Let me know if you you have any questions or if you want to see any examples to get your creativity sparked (I'm sure I can find one in the back files).

Hi Laura,
I did forget to ask another question, how much do you charge the photographer for collaging his work?
Yes, I would love to see some examples of yours. Thank you for offering.
