You are right about needing to attend the trade shows. If you are in the Midwest the closest, largest show would be in Vegas called "Magic". Also, you may also want to check out the trademart and shows in Atlanta as well as New York. There are probably a few shows in L.A. as well, but I am not as familiar with those.
