677, labor $$
Posted by BrianInArkansas, Tue Jan-23-07 07:17 AM
Just wondering what other small business owners consider a reasonable % to spend on labor?

I own a landscaping business in NW Arkansas and pay what I feel is above average wages for the area... but am concerned I might be paying more than I need to...

I have had the same employees for the past three years and am just curious on my question...

Thanks

Brian

In landscaping you will be a high % labor. I don't know a bench mark, but I would say "if it ain't broke, don't break it!"

Meaning if you have good employees you can depend on that make you money, don't tick them off in an effort to save a few dollars unless you are going out of business because of it.
