59, looking for info!!
Posted by keshamac, Wed Aug-23-06 11:28 AM
I am looking into starting a home based purse party business. Would like to start out on my own without becoming someone else's consultant but am unsure how exactly to develop a relationship with a good distributor and what else is needed to get started.

Anyone with info please feel free to share!! Am in need of all the info i can get.

I would first get as much info from other similar party planning companies (rewards for hostess, prices, etc.). Then if people only buy one purse will there be enough profit in it for you after all the invites, rewards, catalogs(if any). Just do all your homework and you should be just fine.
Good Luck.

Hi there - starting off, write all your ideas down, and from this get a business plan together. What type of purses will they be? Handmade or manufactured? Can you make these yourself? Can the items be personalised at all? Ebay has people there selling this type of item in the wholesalers section; they sell in lots sometimes in the crafts section, perhaps this might help gathering supplies. Local craft markets might have a supplier too - perhaps someone has a stall and would be willing to supply purses. Digital camera at all? A catalogue that you can print up on the home system would help identify products and if the catalogue isn't too big, perhaps using this as a mail out? What about gathering some friends and family together for a party, tell them to bring their friends too and use them all as guinea pigs? How is the product to be packaged and presented to a group? What is the turn around time in preparing an order for a customer? How is the item delivered to the customers? Some food for thought, hope this helps!
