Does anyone know anything about laws concerning opening a beauty on wheels salon, which would mean going to homes to do hair and nails. I live in a retirement community and this would be needed, but I need to start somewhere concerning laws.

What do you think, good idea, not so good...

Sounds like a great idea you could offer spa treatments also.
Check out the score website they should be able to help you.
http://www.score.org and give you more advice.

Restrictions, license, etc. vary by area. SCORE, which John mentioned, is an excellent reference for local assistance as well. You could also call the county clerk's office and city hall.

Since you'll be "on the go" much of the time, you could make your vehicle a great marketing tool by painting it to reflect your business.

Good luck!

You really need to check on licensing and registration requirements in your state. I know in my own state it is illegal to do hair/manicures out of ones home. Not sure if this applies to "in other's homes" or not.

Do you have a cosmetology or aesthetics license? If so, you should have learned the requirements in school.

Research more on this. It sounds like a great idea if your city/state allows it.
