I came up with this idea for a salon that offered makeup services for women of color. being a woman of color i find it very fustrating to find the makeup look that i want. I love MAC and Sephora but the truth is that their bottom line is sales not makeup artistry.So when I go to one of these stores for makeup tips and advice I find myself getting very fustrated I found this company in France that actually makes makeup for darker skin tones. they dont even have a market here in the US. I also wanna do skin care cosulting and bridal showers/ baby showers/ spa parties. I have my massage license and I've trained at makeup school. eventually i would like to sell indie makeup brands like sugarpill and house of lashes out of my shop. let me know what you think and do you have any suggestions on how i can make this idea even better.

I second the advice that BizResearcher provided and I too think this is a great idea.

Also, opening your own salon/shop is costly. While you're getting your ducks in a row, you may consider partnering with an existing salon that already has the kind of clientele you aim to serve. That way, you will save on start up costs and have the opportunity to gauge the level of interest in your services.

I would also recommend that you get your own website so that you can promote your bridal showers, baby showers and spa party services as well as sell the other brands you like.

With respect to the French brand, if you decide to import and distribute the brand in the US, make sure you get an exclusivity agreement for X number of years (with the option to extend the exclusivity if your sales numbers meet some target goal) so that the company can't come in and undercut you in the market.
