We are a group of students at Bryant University that are taking a consulting class and would like to offer you advice. Before we feel comfortable offering you any advice we have a few questions for you.

Are you using this Twitter account for personal or business reasons? What type of followers are you looking for? Is there a specific topic that you are interested in or extremely knowledgeable about regarding your city? Where are you located?

If this is for your business you could offer information to people from your city that would be relevant to them in your town and would gain their interest.

If this is for your personal use you could tweet about events that are going on, local restaurants, local businesses, attractions that might be appealing to local residents.

To gain followers be as consistent as you can with posting tweets daily. There are many applications that you can download to schedule tweets such as hootsuite.com or tweetdeck.com so you do not have to put in a lot of time every day developing what you want to talk about.

you are correct, I need to provide relevant info. I need an idea to tweet about, gain followers, then either sell them something or provide ads. I just need an idea to tweet about.

I would tweet consistently, as stale content loses followers.
