I'm with BizResearcher on this one. Local colleges and universities are great places to get help with prototypes; you just have to be sure you are working with the correct department.

Non-disclosures are a necessity, and if you haven't already, you should be sure to do a patent search and patent your idea before you start having it created... It's going to cost you some, so be sure to do your research on this too. If you make a mistake, that could cost you even more!

Figure out what company or organization is going to use your product. Who would they use to create something similar? For example, Bluetooth, Jabra? others?? These companies may already have a similar item in the pipeline-but they would be very careful not to let it out into the mainstream. They also have money backing them, so can probably make sure the patent is solid. If your idea is sound and you already have the patent established, you may want to get an intellectual property attorney to go over licensing and manufacturing options with you. You might do better with this idea to license it, and then sell the rights to it (the idea) to one of the previously noted companies. If they think it is valid, improves upon their own products, they may well "buy the rights". Good luck!
