If you're looking for people to network with, make sure that you check the state websites for states that are investing a significant amount of resources into green energy technology such as Michigan. They generaly will have listservs that you can join where you can communicate with people in your area of interest.

Keep in mind that having an idea is not enough. Your biggest obstacle is going to be getting start up capital. You're luck though because there are many angel investors who are looking for good ideas. So, if you're really interested in this, put together a business plan.
