I have an idea of starting an online/possibly print based publication that would include: classifieds, local events, coupons, etc. It's not a new concept, but I want to get it into the hands of the students/parents in the community (if print based).

Does anyone have a good starting point that could refer me to?

My other goal would be to give a small % back to the school (from the ads I sell to businesses and maybe charge a small $5 fee for placing an ad).

Any comments or suggestions are happily read :)

I use to run a local news site- but it was as a marketing deal for my Office Supply store.
After I sold the office supply store I started a local cable TV channel. So I understand what it takes to do this.
