I don't know much about the industry -- but, in your post, you said "yes another appointment system" - if there are so many appointment systems out there already, then this is too much competition. Also, if this is your idea, then I assume you're a programmer correct? If not, then this is probably not the idea for you.

Also, maybe the people to ask would be the hairstylists. Your wife works with them, maybe she should ask what they would like to see or what they would like to have access to online?
