Hi Everyone. I am trying to help out with a friend of mine. He created this idea/concept http://www.setmyappointment.com. He put alot of work and effort into the website. I am trying to help find ways to promote the website and get doctors to subscribe. I am thinking if we can possibly get patients to recommend the site to their doctors office it might be one way to get doctors to sign on. This will then allow patients to easily go online and change their doctor appointments w/out having to call and be put on hold. Does anyone have any ideas? Do you think this idea is good, has been done before, or ways to make it successful this time?

There are currently many doctors offices with online scheduling abilities as well as some of the nationally known clinic chains, but the opportunity for your friend would be to make it mainstream. Even though some doctors have that capability...what your friend needs to do is create a shift in paradigm where ALL doctors should have this capability. Create a need and a demand,show how it will improve the doctors bottomline profits and customer service with some hard facts and research and you may have something. Good luck. I am in agreement with Anthony. There are many Doctors that have online capabilities which allow patients to make and cancel appointments, some even allow checking lab results. I think if it is to work it must have cost and time savings to the Doctor such as cutting the office I.T. expenses. Good luck

What about attending some networking meetings such as BNI and the chamber of commerce and trying to get ideas and referrals from the people there? You could also offer free trials and then get testimonials from the people who have used it to put on your website. This can be very powerful.

Why just doctors? Why not accountants, financial advisors, dentists, complimentary health professionals, executives, etc.

Hasn't this already been done to death for Doctors? I understand niche marketing, but it seems to me that everyone targets the same customers and then wonders why they're having a hard time breaking into the market.
