2463, Social networking for college students

Hello everyone,

I have an idea for a social networking website and I would like some feedback. I am 38 years old and have recently gone back to college to finish my degree. I had quit years ago to focus on my children and my career in business. Now I'm taking most of my classes online and am really enjoying the networking, but once the class is done, the networking stops.

My idea is to start a social networking blog type website to give college students of all ages a place to go and chat with fellow students and share their experiences and such with each other. I thought it would be a great way to share info on careers, scholarships, have a homework helpers section, and maybe even have a classified section to sell or swap book. I know for me I've been working in the same industry for 24 years and would love to talk with others about their experineces to help choose my 'second' career. I'm a business major (and entrepreneur at heart) so the idea of starting and operating this website really appeals to me.

I would not charge people to sign up....buy maybe eventually sell some fun stuff like t-shirts or book bags. I thought since I am just finishing up my associates degree, and am on a path to earning my bachelor's and master's degrees, I have at least 3-4 more years of networking in my online classes which could drive traffic to my website.

I'm thinking of calling my website:

iCampusCafe.com

I guess it would be sort of like this site, but geared towards people helping college students in different areas. I thought maybe I could even give some small business owners some exposure by either getting them to offer internships or small scholarships. T think the advertising possibilities if this takes off would be great for businesses.

I want to make this completely different thank MySpace or FaceBook. Does anyone think this work?
