1287, Smoothie Business How to...

We have an upscale farmers market (figure that) in my area and I was interested in opening a smoothie/juice bar - upper middle class clientelle and there is general seating for eating prepared foods.

I would like to buy a specialty smoothie cart and see if the development owner would allow it at this site. Here are my questions, does anyone have experence with a smoothie business? - this would NOT be one of those franchises you buy and would be promoted as natural (no Syrups); also,

I want to find out if someone has already tried this business idea in this location. Do I contact the development manager and ask flat-out first OR do I have a business plan before first contact?

Also, the carts are about 9K. Any ideas for acquiring a used one...Thanks for any advice.

There are many inexpensive ways to buy the equipment you need to start this business up. First you need to get approval to see what they will allow you to do and if you will have water and electricity available as well. There may be some additional health code regulations you may need to follow as well.

We sell our products at a local upscale farmers market each weekend. There is a rule at the market that products for immediate consumption cannot be sold without express permission of the market management.

I would most definitely seek their permission before wasting any further time on the project.
