150, How do you use social networking sites like Facebook, DIGG, etc.

Greetings Everyone,

There's a lot of buzz (and a lot of traffic) on the big social networking sites like Facebook, DIGG, YouTube, etc. etc.

Do you use any of these? If so, which ones and how?

Do you use any of these in any way for your small business?

Or, if you don't use these in your business now, do you think you will in the future?

Cheers,

Francie

I'd like to know the answer to that question as well. I signed up for some of these, but I wasn't exactly sure how to make it effective.

How does one use Facebook for networking? Do they network with other businesses that are on there? I just thought Utube was for people putting up home videos and stuff. I'd be very interested to see how it is used for a business.

As far as Youtube goes here is a section from their TOS

E: Prohibited commercial uses do not include:

uploading an original video to YouTube, or maintaining an original channel on YouTube, to promote your business or artistic enterprise

Now you can make a commercial put it up on the tube and then send the link to all your clients. Think how much better a commercial would be than just sending them text and graphics. Now can you afford to do video for your business is the next question? Just follow the link in my signature.......

You use them for networking. Facebook allows you to send out messages to your 'friends' that stay in their inbox.
Twitter acts as a constant feed of updates. You can link your blog to Twitter so it automatically post any new entries. The newest thing on Twitter is doing daylong series of mini posts on a single topic. Twitter helps build connections/networks to get your name out there.

Both are also being used by major corporations. If you want to see the impact that social marketing can have Google Motrin + Facebook or Twitter.
