Greetings Brilliant Creative Geniuses Out There!
Idea Cafe needs a shorter, sweeter tag line PLUS an additional new one to describe who comes here. I know you creative minds who frequent CyberSchmooz can help us out.We've used this as our tagline for some years: "A Fun Approach to Serious Business"(sm) However, it is 10 syllables long -- WAY too much of a mouthful. Ideally, we'd like to communicate that Idea Cafe is where business is fun, not stodgy. So perhaps... "Where small business is fun" Do you think that flys??? Or what would you suggest?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, I'd like to have a short, sweet description of our audience. The individuals who come to Idea Cafe -- like you -- are creating their own worklife on their own terms. Explore these links to get a handle on our audience... Demographics: (if the url line breaks, just copy & paste the entire thing) https://www.businessownersideacafe.com/advertising_information/ stats.php Profiles (start from this page and read about small business owners we think have shown moxie): https://www.businessownersideacafe.com/business_people/index.php So how would you describe these gutsy founders of small companies in a few snappy syllables? Thanks for your help! Cheers,
Francie Ward Chief Entrepreneurial Officer Idea Cafe http://www.ideacafe.com
I like your original tagline better than your new suggestion but I'll throw in my two cents for possible elaboration...Caffeinated ideas for your business. Serious business at play. (Lends itself to a nice graphic!) The playground for serious business. Pretend coffee, serious business. I will say this as well, humor sells. I think it's better to have a longer tagline that's funny as opposed to a short, unmemorable one... Good luck!
"Ideas with a kick" Should have great graphic possibilities."Join us for a cup of ideas" and the last bit of cerebellum juice available tonight......a tried, but true cliche. "Ideas that work smarter, not harder"
I really like Kelly Basinger's idea of "Pretend coffee, serious business."Here is one other subtil variation on that theme: Pretend coffee, real business.
Great ideas, all.Thanks for the creative input. What are your favorites above? Also, what do you think about "Small Business Synergy"? This was suggested by Troy Tate, author of The DNA of Successful Leaders: Tapping Your Natural Power to Win Friends and Influence Others And can anyone suggest some more ideas for how we can best describe (in a few words) the type of people who come to Idea Cafe? What do you think about "Ideapreneurs" ??? Cheers, Francie
14. "Play off tagline"
To describe the folks who are using this site, I would select a tagline and then play off of that with what you say and stay within a theme.Ideapreneurs is clever but a mouthful and the word looks funny. Pick a tagline or pick a description of your audience and balance them within the same theme. Percolating Entrepreneurs - they are always thinking and coming up with ideas and this one stays in the coffee theme. Adventurers in Business - they take risks and do new things. And I hate to be negative, but the word synergy is overused and stale in my world. I don't think it is good to put in a tagline because everyone is using it when they talk to me. Find a creative way to express yourself and your business. That's what hooks people's attention.
I would spend less time coming up with a new tag line and more time on the site layout so that people can find the information they need.You rank #1 on Google search for business ideas... so any changes need to be incremental so as to not screw with that prestigous place. My senior managing partner Dan and I were thinking of a few additional slogans for your website. I am not sure if you are still searching, but I thought either way it couldn't hurt to have more options. Idea Cafe...... Small Business. Your Business. The Passport to Small Business Anticipating Small Business Solutions Reserving Small Business Solutions (The last one is meant to coincide with the theme of dining....reservations.) Thanks and good luck with your hunt. - Jeff jturk@maclitesolutions.com
