What does your business do?
Kids Art studio with 1000+ course curriculum that offers classes,
camps, workshops, home school, art parties, birthday parties, and
on the go studio for community organizations. We feel that our Art
program will be a natural extension that allows kids by creating
art to build confidence, problem solving skills, and social
skills helping them to excel academically.
When and why did you start the biz?
Opened October 2018: I wanted a business that afforded the ability
to give back to the community that my family and I live in through
the expression of Art. I have noticed that the availability of
Art in schools is diminishing. I thought what a wonderful and fun
way to expose kids to Art.
How Many People are in your Company?
Where's your office?
Open Vibrant Multi-color(Orange,Green,Yellow,Blue) retail space
with polished concrete floors that has retail area/ waiting area
supplied with art kits, games, projects and supplies. The studio
space is furnished tables/ chairs for 48 kids, sinks for clean up,
magnetic wall for group drawing of murals, multi-color carpeted
story time area with mascots Arty and Crafty(parakeets).
What's the toughest part of running your biz?
Our Challenges to date have been marketing a new brand in our
community and being an advocate for those organizations who want
and need our program but, have limited funding. Therefore, we
have continued to work diligently and deliberately to build a
sound foundation so we can offer scholarship opportunities to
organizations for field trips, workshops, home school and art
What's the most fun part?
In the months that we have been open, its been really fun to see
the kids enjoying themselves, making a mess while making art --
being really afraid to make a mess and once we explain its okay
they really enjoy getting paint all over their hands and on the
aprons and squeezing clay through their fingers and painting their
creations. Watching kids faces light up when they mix up slime in
a bowl and holding it in their hands as it spills all over the
tables is so exciting.
And Comments like This Make it all worthwhile: "My daughters did a
camp there today and they both had the best time. One daughter
said “I wish I could turn back time, so I could do this day all
over again. It was so fun!” The instructors had wonderful
personalities, the studio was clean, inviting, and allowed
creative vibes to flow. The girls brought home beautiful art!
Looking forward to our next visit."

What advice do you have for others?
Make sure you determine how you are going to market to your target
audience and what platforms ie Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google,

cost of ownership and think about "Profit First" management because
you can spend everything you make in a blink of an EYE.

Is there any one person or event in your life that led
you to go into business for yourself?
I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 15/16 years during
that time I have spent time with my kids exposing them to all of
the activities that our community had to offer. Once our kids
were able to attend pre-school or grade school, I have also spent
some of that time volunteering in the classroom as time or the
need presented itself. Since our youngest child was about to
enter middle school I felt it was time to re-enter the workforce;
however, I wanted to do something that was fun and kid related as
I have enjoyed being around kids and really wanted to share
experiences with kids of means and those who aren't always
fortunate to experience different things.
