What does your business do?
We offer civil process of service, asset/judgment recovery, skip tracing (people finding), and courier services.
When and why did you start the biz?
I started this business after noticing that others working in this field were a bit inhumane, and would not treat the defendants they were serving like people.
How Many People are in your Company?
Where's your office?
We currently operate out of our bedroom, next to the bed. A desk is set up with a computer and printer.
What's the toughest part of running your biz?
The toughest part of running the business is the lack of space, and lack of marketing ability I have.
What's the most fun part?
Working with the defendant is a very fortunate thing for me, as I also run a Christian ministry. I get the opportunity to let the defendants know that someone cares about them and will offer prayer for them, so they can get back on track. The looks and smiles I receive makes my business worth it!
Anything you would have done differently?
I would have created a better business plan, in order to foresee expenses I had not originally planned.
What's next on the horizon for your biz?
We hope to move out of the home and into an office space after the new year 2019. This is exciting for us, and will allow us to help bring new business in and help us to hire others in the community.
What advice do you have for others?
Treat people as your best assets, and you will receive the best work from them.
How do you use Idea Cafe to help your biz?
I am new to Idea Café, but I am already learning and growing. I have downloaded some of the books on marketing, and will be learning news things daily I imagine.
School (where, still in school, degree)?
Institue for Christian Works
Prior jobs or business?
I worked as a construction worker for 9 years, a computer engineer for 16 years, and now as a business owner for 3 years.
What are your pets' names?
Vinnie and Princess Fiona
Do any of these pets help with your biz?
Both of our babies provide us with joy and comfort, allowing us to relax after a hard day, so both babies are essential to our business.
Is there any one person or event in your life that led
you to go into business for yourself?
My father worked for 35 years at a car factory. He always provided for us, and is still a hard worker to this day. He provided me with a goal to be like him, and it has stuck to this day.
