Rethinking and Replacing Your Office Coffeemaker

Coffee is the fuel that makes many offices function the way that they do. There are some individuals who would go so far as to say that they cannot function without their morning cup of coffee. Virtually every office has to have free coffee available to its team members. The question is, which coffee makers are best for an office?

Designer Coffeemaker

The Chemex coffeemaker is the top of the pack when it comes to office coffee. They’re made with borosilicate glass and fastened with a wood collar and tie. This makes it stand out in the office and shows that whoever decided to get this for the office clearly cares about those who work there. The unique filters used in the Chemex brewing process helps create a clean and crisp cup of coffee every time. While the unconventional nature of the Chemex can seem a little intimidating at first, it won’t take long for your employees to master the art of brewing truly great coffee.

Brew Station

Is your office chock-full of people who have to have their cup of Joe? They would probably appreciate it if they could have a large quantity of coffee ready to go for them whenever they are ready for it. This brew station from Hamilton Beach will not only make a large batch of coffee for everyone to enjoy, but the design will help keep that coffee hot and fresh for a significant period of time. The price tag on this one is just around $40.

Programmable Coffeemaker

While their low price tag and simplicity make standard programmable coffeemakers a tempting choice, they’re probably not right for the office. It’s important to include on the list because a lot of office managers or business owners may think that this coffeemaker is perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, that is often not the case. This one can be acceptable for your home, but it just doesn't make enough coffee or keep that coffee fresh long enough for a busy office.

Keurig

The Keurig coffeemakers are popular in a lot of homes and offices, and they are an acceptable choice for either place. One of the drawbacks of the Keurig machines is that they use single-serve disposable pods that are very damaging to the environment. Yes, everyone gets exactly what they want in terms of coffee flavors, but it also means that there is a lot of extra waste that goes into landfills as a result. With that said, 100% compostable pods are available, which enable companies to provide employees with Keurig coffee without environmental guilt.

There are plenty of different models of Keurig makers, and they range in price dramatically. Some may seem reasonable for a home or office while others are a bit high on the price range. It may be best to avoid them if you don't want to spend a fortune just to have coffee for everyone. Don't forget the additional cost of all of those pods if you go this route as well.

Multiple coffeemakers exist that could make sense for an office. It is an important thing to spend some time on as employees are likely to interact with the coffee machine on a daily basis. Consider this and find the right fit for your particular office.
