Five Ways To Make The ‘New Normal’ More Comfortable
The new normal is a strange experience to be living in for everyone. There’s been subtle, weird changes that have had to be navigated, from being at home all the time, not commuting to work, and having to wear a mask while you’re out. So with new changes to our daily routine, how do we make a more comfortable, and happier, experience for all of us? Here are some ideas that can be used to make the new normal just that little bit more comfortable- whether you’re creative or active, or just a busy bee, there’s something for everyone. 1. Make your own masks.Be fun, and get creative. Make your own masks out of bits of material you have around the house from past sewing projects. You can make animal-themed ones for the kids and make their day. You could even take to selling them online and create your own little business selling masks. Furthermore, homemade masks are also far more sustainable, as they can be used more than once. 2. Set up a drinks station in your home officeGet yourself a water jug or put a tea or coffee making station in your office. This will make everything so much easier and help you concentrate on your work, as hydration can have a lot of great health benefits. You won’t have to go too far from your workstation to fill up, reducing the risk of getting distracted by your family in the kitchen or elsewhere. It’s also recommended to getting a fruit bowl in your office too- so you can snack healthily on the go. 3. Get a PTAC UnitGet a PTAC unit. These little things help regulate room temperature and get the working conditions right for you. They’re portable and are a singular unit, so you don’t need any complicated add-ons to help it work better. They are a heater and air conditioner in one- so you don’t need to hunt around the house when you need a fan. To help with your search, look here: PTAC4Less. 4. Wear bright colorsUp your mood by wearing bright colors. Do your make up, dress fancy- anything to make the day seem out of the ordinary. This is a great way to boost morale and enjoy yourself at home, and improve your dress sense and makeup looks. You could even try doing face paint if you want to mix things up, the key is to simply be creative and have fun. 5. Start exercising more in the houseDo Pilates in your living room, or start online dance classes, and stay active and have some fun. It will also be great for the whole family to get involved in, or a great way to exercise if you can’t get out of the house often due to other commitments. Here are just five of the many ways you can make the new normal more comfortable and enjoyable for you- and maybe your families and housemates, too!
