Building for success – How to create a company website with all the right ingredients
No matter how much you’d like to deny it, digital is the way to go. A huge portion of marketing and sales take place digitally nowadays. While that doesn’t mean that traditional means of business are irrelevant, they clearly suffer at the hand of their online counterparts. As a result, a business that wants to make the most of its marketing campaigns and be as successful as possible, needs to put time and thought behind their website effort. Jumping from a mediocre or failing platform to a well designed, built for success online platform isn’t hard, and the steps required to do so aren’t either. However they can be very easily overlooked and that’s what makes the different most of the times between those two types of websites. If you want to take full advantage of the internet era, you need to keep these factors in mind when building your website: User friendly interface This is one of the most important traits, as far as website creation goes. Without a friendly interface that makes the journey of discovering your website intuitive, users will have no choice but to click the “Back” button on their browsers. Users don’t like it when they are expected to have to learn how an entire platform works just to browse a website, so make sure that everything is as simple as possible. “Intuitive” is the key word here. Live customer support Customer support is a must have, of course, but not just any kind of customer support will do the trick. Most people are daunted by simple “send an email” support contact options, not to mention the option of calling in. The best solution for customer support is live chat. People are extremely relived when, upon discovering a problem or having an inquiry, realize that there is a live chat feature. This means having staff constantly engaging the community, but that’s exactly what you want. As we said, you need to invest a little if you want a quality platform. A rich footer This might seem like the least important part of a website but it’s quite the contrary. You see, a large percentage of people visiting your platform will get lost or confused. Not because you didn’t simply navigation enough for them, but because it’s their first time on the website and they just don’t know where to click next. The footer needs to contain all the necessary information. Think of it as a guide for lost travelers. This is where you want to place valuable navigation tools and links towards the most important pages on your site, but also information about the website, the company, the staff, and even contact details.
