Terri Levine, Owner of Comprehensive Coaching U, Inc.A few years ago, Terri found herself miserable in her very successful, high-paying "power" job. She realized the money and prestige weren't as important to her any longer, and she wanted to take control of her life -- her way, and fill her days with more joy. So she decided to follow her heart and become a coach. She'd always wanted to coach others, as well as train them to develop their own coaching skills, so they too could "work happy" as she planned to do. So, taking the higher road to personal and business freedom, Terri founded Comprehensive Coaching U, Inc. in 1999. For clients who want to become an internal or external professional or personal coach (and join the ranks of this fast-growing profession), she offers her secrets and strategies via her Professionals Coach Training Program. For individuals and organizations who want to enhance their professional work or personal life, or create a better work culture with higher productivity and profits with more work enjoyment, Terri offers her Comprehensive Coaching Group service. Coaching can be done at a business client's location, or to provide convenience and flexibility worldwide, clients can take classes over the telephone. Terri has a master's of science degree in speech/language pathology and has owned her own speech therapy clinics, as well as an art consulting business. In past work lives, she's been an administrator in a healthcare organization; done marketing on a national scale; and was the president of a major national healthcare chain. To stay on top of her field, she's involved in several professional organizations, such as the International Coach Federation (ICF); American Society of Training and Development (ASTD); Business Network International (BNI); Philadelphia Area Coaches Alliance; Publisher's Marketing Association; and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She's also a Certified Comprehensive Coach and also holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the ASHA. She's written her own book, Work Yourself Happy, as well as dozens of articles in business and healthcare publications. When it comes to her business philosophy, Terri replies, "Doing what I love -- coaching, writing, training, speaking and creating work that benefits others -- creates extraordinary happiness for me. I believe in providing high value and coming from a place of abundance in giving to those I work with. Helping others find the same enjoyment in their careers, business, with coaching tools or by embracing the Work Yourself Happy philosophy, is my mission and my desire." When Terri isn't busy running her own business and coaching others towards their own goals, she dreams of racing a Formula Dodge Car in the Indy 500. Stock car racing is her passion! Terri works and lives in Pennsylvania. Her trusty dog, Sheba, brings delight into her life every day. If you'd like to contact Terri, you can visit her web site. Terri's Answers How does a small (tiny) business survive when the owner is prone to overspending; accepts any solicitation; and buys any gadget that he sees?... Our meager cash reserves are dwindling fast and he refuses to talk about it...Have you guessed that I'm his wife/associate? I'm desperate for help! Plain Jane Hi, I'm in a family business that has been a struggle the last few years....So my work load has increased, while I try to keep her from doing anything, keeping my father from his daily rampages, and making mom take 2-3 days off a week. The last 2 or 3 days, I have been noticing that little things my wife does, are annoying the he!! out of me....Anybody have any suggestions? I need some motivation strategies for staff who are in a creative/sales environment; plus I'd love any advice on how to be a friend and a boss. My partner is not putting out as much effort as he should...leaving me to do all the work. Now for a new business like mine, it's becoming a setback. How do I tackle?
