Answer from our Guest Expert Lillyvette Montalvo PAGE 3 Break Up Your Day Take a few breaks every now and then. Don't stay on the phone or computer for hours on end - that can lead to boredom and burn out. Go to the mailbox or post office to get your mail and go through all business-related items. Get out of your office when you're going to have lunch - don't eat at your desk - even if "getting out of the office" is going to another room in the house or in the kitchen! Another way to break up your home office biz day is to network and volunteer in your community. Attend the monthly chamber of commerce meetings. Chambers of commerce are great places to meet other business people in your community and a way to learn about different activities that benefit your community. Or volunteer to help a local elementary student with reading for one hour a week. Not only will this give you some time out of the office, you'll be supporting a good cause. It's extremely satisfying and it's also a wonderful way to network with and help others. Office Music to Your Ears What's your favorite kind of music? What gets your toes to tapping or lifts your spirits? Consider some music in your office; not full blast - of course - but as a background sound. If it doesn't distract your train of thought, it's nice to have these pleasant sounds lingering in the background. These are all things I do myselfin my home office! Hope some of them help you out! Best of Success to you! Lillyvette
