Tourist-Town.Com

If yours is a tourist area, your site could be filled with plenty of vacation to-dos, maps, facts, even the town's history (if applicable). List local attractions and events. And, of course, list advertisers who are trying to reach this market -- coupons for local restaurants, hotel/motels, campgrounds would do well on such a site.

Use only fresh, timely content for this web site smorgasbord. It's what your web site visitors will return for, and what will build your Internet audience. Even though, this type of web site is harder to promote because the tourists may come from anywhere, if it's well done, it could be a living brochure for the tourists and exactly what the advertisers ordered.

More-Specific.Com

This type of a web site targets groups within larger communities. These could be ethnic in origin, or directed to people who are a community within a community, such as a college campus within a town. Does your local area have any such situation? If so, what type of info would interest them? What advertisers are interested in reaching that particular segment of the community? Discover ways your web site can bring these two parties together.

Create-Your-Own.Com

I hope these three web site ideas help you. Spend time looking around the market you want to sell, find what will work, then build it, promote it, and sell it. Do a mixture of the three ideas, or create your own zesty recipe with your unique perspective on your community. Your entrepreneurial energy will help you out as well!

Good Luck, Jim Chesky
