5 Ways to Make Money in Your Spare Time

Nowadays everyone is looking for ways to get a few extra bucks in their pocket. Some people will load themselves up with minimum wage jobs, working themselves until they can barely stay awake. However, if you value your time at home and enjoy relaxing - there are still plenty of ways you can make some extra cash.

1. Get Cash Back Shopping Online

It may seem counterproductive, spending money to earn money. However, if you were going to spend the money anyway, you might as well try to get some of that money back. From clothing websites, thing for your home and more there are plenty of opportunities for you to earn back money that you would have let just fly right out of your hand.

Sites like Quidco and Swagbucks offer you anywhere from 0.5% up to 10% back on your online purchases. There are plenty of these sites all over the internet but Swagbucks specifically has a wide variety of retailers who they work with so they can offer you dozens of ways to earn money back.

2. Online Surveys

The concept of making money from online surveys isn't anything new in fact, it has been around for years. It's surprising how many people overlook this easy and lucrative ‘job’. Swagbucks and SurveyJunkie are just some of the sites that you can join to start. They work with top companies to help the companies boost sales by learning more about the market they are trying to sell to. This is where you come in! By taking 5-20 minutes and completing a survey you get to help these companies better understand you as a customer. This helps them create better products to sell. It also helps you make extra cash!

But how does it really work? You get credits for every survey you complete. The longer the surveys - the more they are worth. You can they turn these credits on the Swagbucks or SurveyJunkie websites into gift cards to use at top retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and even PayPal. If you are still not convinced on starting up on your survey journey take a look at this swag bucks review.

3. Become a 'Clickworker'

Again the internet is full of ways to make money by doing simple and mundane tasks. In fact, companies like Clickworker.com and Mechanical Turk are created just for this. They are based on the ‘crowd-sourcing’ concept and just like surveys, they help companies better themselves.

The tasks on these sites are mostly online research and mindless data entry-things you've most likely done already. These tasks aren't necessarily complex, in fact, these companies could just hire employees to do this. However, they find it better to contract out people from all over the country. It tends to lead to more diverse and honest results.

Cashing in on these small tasks are a great way to earn a little extra cash from home with you are relaxing and comfy. You are rewarded and paid in cash (via Paypal) for the work you do, and you can choose for what and when you work.

4. Sell Your Old Notes

If you went to college or even took advanced classes in high school, you probably have notebooks and files on your computer of the notes you took during these classes. Since you aren't using them anymore, why not sell copies of them so others can benefit?

There are sites out there that you can upload your notes to, and then when another student downloads them you get paid. You even get to pick your price depending on how much you feel your hard work is worth. Most of these sites like Nexus Notes and Stuvia are free for you to list your notes, but tend to take a cut of your profit in order to handle the marketing and site upkeep. This actually helps you out because you don’t have to go out there and promote your notes yourself.

You will most likely have to upload PDFs so you may have to go through the process of transferring over the notes into this format. Some sites will also let you submit handwritten notes but you’re likely to make more money if they’re typed up.

5. Sell Unused Belongings Online

Speaking of your old school items, how many old textbooks do you still have lying around your house? Perhaps that heavy box of Biology and Chemistry books collecting dust can help another student in need. You can sell those old books on Amazon, TextbookRush and even the on-campus book store at your local college.

You can also do a decluttering sweep of your home and sell old belongings that you aren't using. Furniture, clothing, old video games, and consoles, almost anything you have that is clogging up your home. Reselling old items can bring you in big bucks and help save the environment as its a great way to recycle!

And there you have it- five ways to make some extra cash in your spare time, most even from the comfort of your own home. You can fill your money, declutter your home and get your life moving in the right track. Good Luck!
