5 Business Ideas You Could Start This Weekend

When it comes to starting a business, most people think of it as a long-term process that will take lots of time and money to start. But there are business ideas for everyone out there, and some of them don’t require a great deal of investment to start. Of course, the more you put into a business the more you are going to get out of it, but regardless, there are plenty of ideas for businesses that are relatively simple to set up and will allow you to start making money right away. Let’s take a look at five of them.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular types of businesses on the internet today. Because there is such an assortment of businesses and products with affiliate programs – the biggest of which is Amazon – there are more and more people becoming affiliate marketers every year. You can easily set up a website for almost nothing and start recommending products, getting a commission from each one. Some of the popular programs include Amazon, Hostgator and Clickbank.

Freelance Professional Services

If you have skills in a particular area, then you might be interested in offering freelance professional services – in the real world or online. For example, if you are a Photoshop wiz, then you might want to try offering graphic design services doing logos, book covers and more. If you are a great writer and remember almost everything from grammar class, maybe freelance writing is the right business for you. There are lots of professional services that can be sold online and offline. You just have to figure out what your talent or skillset is and start making money from it.

Virtual Personal Assistant

The virtual personal assistant is another terrific job that you can start on your own and do completely online, and it has become an extremely popular job lately, because of how many people have started working from home and need assistants, as well as because the technology that connects people instantly and allows them to communicate in so many different ways works so well. If you have good management skills, and all of the tools that you’ll need to be an assistant for someone, you might be to find work doing this job.

Resume Consultant

You also might be able to work for people as a resume consultant if you know how to build a killer resume. People pay big money to ensure that they get the right job, and the resume is a big part of that. But you could even expand your business even further and give advice and lessons on performing well in an interview, helping people dress for success or many other factors that are all part of getting hired.

Website/Domain Flipper

If you can buy websites or domain names and then flip them – improve them and sell them at a profit – you might be able to make some big money. With domains, you have to have an eye for what might be worth some money to someone else, but with websites, you just have to pay the right price and make some improvements that will allow you to sell it at a profit.

There are lots of business ideas out there, and while some of them require very little preparation, they might require some capital, to give you a boost. You can use this calculator to find out how much you need and make sure that you have all of the equipment and tools to start your business and get it off the ground.
