4 Ways to Generate Leads for your Roofing Business

Growing a roofing business can be difficult, as much of your day-to-day activities involve hands-on work, completing jobs on time, and keeping your customers happy.  However, it's important to dedicate some time to growing your company and securing new business, especially if you are a small company or a sole trader.

Want to grow your roofing business but not sure where to start? Here are four simple ways that you can generate new leads fo your roofing business today.

1. Always Seek New Customers

There's a lot of competition in the roofing market, because everyone is offering the same services. That's why it's important to make sure people know you exist, and you should constantly market to new customers.

In today's digital world, effective roofing marketing online is one of the best ways to help prospective customers find you. If you have a website, consider using Google Adwords to get your business listed higher up on the search results page. Social media such as Facebook and Twitter are also useful tools for connecting with people in your area, and you can use paid advertising to make sure your posts are displayed to the right audience.

To bolster your reputation as a trusted roofing contractor and make your business more appealing to potential new customers, use online review schemes for traders.

2. Don't Forget About Existing Customers

While offering incentives and discounts to sign new customers up is important to help your business grow, you should never overlook your existing customers. Since they have already used your business and (hopefully!) you did a good job, they are the perfect group to remarket to.

Consider setting up a referral or loyalty scheme, through which repeat customers can earn discounts.  Most homeowners want to look after their house, so an annual roof inspection service would be a great way to earn repeat business. You could offer loyalty discounts after a certain number of inspections.

Remember to build email lists of all your existing customers and send relevant marketing emails. This will keep you fresh in their mind next time they need roofing work, or if someone asks for a suggestion, they'll think of you right away.

3. Create Alliances with Other Contractors

Landscaping companies, handymen, DIY stores, and home improvement businesses could all be potential partners for your roofing business. They serve the kind of customers who may well need a roofing expert, so supply them with your business cards or brochures to give to their clients.

Why would they want to do this? Because it's a two-way street! In return, you could provide referrals to your clients for their businesses, or you could buy your supplies from them. Most businesses are always looking for more needs, so a mutually beneficial alliance means everyone wins!

4. Advertise Strategically

While many people choose to do all of their advertising online, don't assume that local advertising is no longer relevant. Plus, you'll be able to target ads at demographics that are most likely to be looking for local roofing services.

Outdoor roofing adverts in specific locations can be really effective in drawing attention to your business. Direct mail is also a great way to make local people aware of your services. Flyers, leaflets, and postcards can all grab the attention of potential clients in your area.

Bottom Line

While it can be hard to find time in the day to focus on generating new leads, it's an essential task for any business. Use these handy tips to help you start growing your roofing business today!
