Equipment needed: Desk, phone, fax, typewriter, PC.

You keep personal computers (PCs) going in businesses of all sizes. To do this you visit offices, stores, factories, and other facilities of your clients either on a regular or an emergency basis. Almost all your repairs will be done on-site, where the computer is installed. To succeed in this business you must, of course, know PCs backwards and forwards. But you do not need a license or other technical qualifications, other than the usual local business permit. Your work will usually be confined to replacing circuit boards and other simple tasks, such as cleaning keyboards, monitor screens, and printer typing elements.
