What does your business do?

Anew Life Prosthetics and Orthotics is a community centered, Prosthetic, Orthotic, in-house manufacturing company located in the growing New Center area of Detroit which uses state of the art 3d scanning to better service our patients to make great fitting devices.

How would you use the grant money?

We would use the funds for an advertising campaign or as a down payment on another 3d scanner or possibly a 3d printer so that we could assist more patients with limb loss. Our patients range from the homeless or underhoused to CEO's of companies. A 3d scanner is much more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly to use than the old method of plaster casting.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?

The grant would enable us to pursue advertising options (local media outlets) or additional scanning options so that we can assist more patients. We are a small business who advertises solely by word of mouth as we don't have the funding for an advertising budget as we are reinvesting in our employees and technology.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?

Anew Life has been involved in the community since its inception. We have three non-profits in our building and we work with local community organizations such as Street Medicine Detroit, NSO, Palestine Children's Relief Fund along with many other local organizations and churches. We would be able to work with more organizations in the community to assist those with limb loss or other needs.
