What does your business do?

My name is Serena and I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and the owner and creator of Treat Worthy Pet Creations, LLC. I make the first (and only) patent pending, custom arranged treat gift baskets for pets for all occasions and holidays! My baskets are personalized and custom made for each and every pet. The treats I use are all natural and/or organic and made in the USA. Being a licensed Veterinary Technician I am knowledgeable in pet nutrition which allows me to accommodate special diets such as hypoallergenic, grain free or even vegan. My baskets make the perfect gift for any pet or the pet lover who has EVERYTHING! They are unique, adorable and there's nothing else like them on the market!

How would you use the grant money?

Bootstrapping is my middle name and funds are low low low! I plan on using the grant money for better packaging of my baskets. I would like to have them in a sturdy, clear plastic type box that would allow for stacking and also better protection for the basket itself since it is delicate. If there is left over I will use it to expand my product line from baskets for Dogs, Cats and Ferrets to also including baskets for birds and rabbits (yes, I have gotten a lot of requests!!)

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?

If I have proper packaging, I can pitch my baskets to major pet stores. They will be stackable and protected and will look appealing on store shelves. If I expand the product line, I open the business up to a lot more pet owners and will have potential for more sales.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?

I will pay it forward by helping other small business owners try to reach their goals.....I would provide mentoring and if I am able, financial support. On the Pet side of things, I would LOVE to be able to donate a portion of my proceeds to local animal shelters and rescues on a regular basis.
