What does your business do?

A year and a half ago I created my own business "Dee\'s Mixes" with my first fragrance called "Reminisce", with the idea that confidence comes from inside and also from your appearance on the outside. I have created marketing campaigns, web sites, and flyers for events. I believe that the way you look and feel is very imperative to your mind set for that day. I believe that when you smell good you feel good, which is the slogan for my company,"Smell Good Feel Good" so I create fragrances that will compliment each individual. I created this company for young girls, teenage girls,men and women, to promote confidence and exude "fearlessness" whenever they are going about accomplishing something.

How would you use the grant money?

My business will use the money to enhance marketing and advertising, for more products, and the development of my business. First the money will help with marketing; marketing will allow my business to get more attention and potentially new customers. I look forward to setting up display booths in the mall, business workshops/events and expos that will allow me to get in front of new customers. The money will also be used for more products, the funding will allow me to buy supplies in bulk that will lower the overhead cost, and also allow me to work even harder by focusing solely on my business, which will help focus on a certain amount of products, that will allow me to scale my business. This will help me manage the money that’s coming in and out of the business. The money will also be used to continue to secure the methods of payments, online and increase technology for accepting payments to build capital in the business.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?

The grant will be allowing me to grow, and expand into more markets. I look forward to buying supplies in bulk that will lower the overhead cost, and also allow me to work even harder by focusing solely on my business. In the coming months I will depart from my current job, which will allow me to focus on my business 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I have already put my all into starting my business and I am ready to do what every it takes to have a very successful business, and if that means no sleeping, taking little breaks, having no social life, I am will and ready to have a very successful business.

If the Idea Cafe's Grant helps my business reach greater success I plan on paying it forward by providing jobs to the public to enhance their lives to one day become successful and greater with their goals they may have set for themselves. I will help others with confidence and set an example to always serve to accomplish whatever to set your mind on mastering or achieving.
