What does your business do?
Blanket Statements was founded with this goal in mind: to provide physical warmth, spiritual comfort and love by means of sharing a blanket.

At Blanket Statements you can purchase a beautifully crafted, snuggly warm throw blanket for yourself, with the added bonus of an additional blanket being delivered to a women's shelter in your name. You may also include a personal note with your gift of kindness, or choose from one of our touching sentiments and give anonymously.

It is a simple premise - get a blanket, give a blanket.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?
The grant would enable me refine my inventory as stated above. I would really like to narrow in on items made in the USA rather than imports. I have two companies that I would love to do business with, but with bootstrapping my business and raising two teenagers on a single mom's salary I am limited in what I can offer at the moment. Minimum opening order amounts with the companies I'd like to do business with are just too steep for me right now. I feel that being able to offer a more select product line would help sales and allow me to help more women in need.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?
I would love for my idea to expand further than my local area. The concept is a proven one and I feel that it is an idea which could take off nationally. I am working towards offering blankets to more shelters and would like to initially work with shelters in other counties in Illinois and southern Wisconsin. The purpose of my business really isn't to sell blankets...it is to help women in need. To share the warmth, comfort and love.
