We are both moms of toddlers, one of us is a stay-at-home and the other one is a single working mom. We have access to beautiful handmade jewelry from India at a very low cost and it has been our dream to sell jewelry. We are very serious about starting this business from home- selling in our local area and eventually going on-line. We are just not sure where to start! Since our jewelry will be coming from India and we plan on selling it here in the U.S., is there anything special we have to do? We do not have a business lic. yet so would this be necessary? Would there be any other licenses or permits or whatever we would need to apply for since we are importing? We would just like to go about this the right way as to avoid any legal problems later- which would mean money problems of course..
