to help you better advertise your business i would tell you to try and find out if there are any free seminars or confrences in your area, just a place where you can meet other business people, that is a sure fire way to making solid connections with people and handing out your business cards.

Spend no more than 15 minutes with each person (if its a big convention) and really get around the room. It all starts with being comfortable with yourself and being confident. From your post i kind of gather (and no offense here) that youre a very nice person but you let people take advantage of you. Thats just not right, you have to be solid with your hours and charge extra if people are going to be late.

Nothing wrong with being a bit ruthless and people will respect you for having a backbone. Hope that helps.
