209, Need help - Business is Growing

I am a Pet Communicator. I love to market my business. And I've gotten a lot of great ideas along the way. I was written up in the New York Times and now my business is growing. I know how to market my business. Now I need to learn how to maintain and prepare for the new needs of my business as it grows. For example, I am going to a Pet Expo and I anticipate the call volume into my business to expand from 1 - 2 calls a day to 30 - 40 calls per day. How can I handle this expansion? And is there any way for me to anticipate and prepare for other expansions or will I have to handle each new growth as it occurs. I would appreciate any and all information regarding this subject. Also, are there any books available on this subject?

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Shira,
I don't want to throw cold water on your enthusiasm but don't make any major monetary investments until you're certain your phone is going to be ringing off the hook. For example, to go from a couple of calls a day to 30 to 40 isn't a fact yet, it's a hope and if the calls come from an expo, the duration will usually be short term. You'll have a lot of hits right off the bat, and then they'll taper off and likely be slightly more than you currently get. Each expo you do and as word of mouth takes over your business will grow steadily and you can adjust as you experience the growth...don't spend and make committments based on what may be nothing more than a flash in the pan.
Good luck

Thank you for your insight. The expo was a complete washout. And, thanks to your suggestions, I didn't make any monetary investments. I didn't realize that I had exceeded my previous business plan goals. I am updating my business plan to chart the course for my new goals for my company. Thank you, again, for your kind response and for helping me to steer clear of costly mistakes.

Call me crazy... but you read people's future and tell them what it holds. Your web site says, "They also say the reading is uncanny, extremely accurate and fun!"

So, here is my idea... Why not do a reading on yourself, and you shouldn't need anyone's advice.

This wasn't meant as a slam - I'm just saying...

Good luck!

Jeff
