What does your business do?
We take high resolution photos of local areas of interest, Beach Scenes, Surfers, Nature & Animals and Commercial Stock photos
When and why did you start the biz?
I'm 77 yrs old and a retired RCA engineer, my friend and partner is near retirement and she wants to develop a way to earn extra income. I like the challenge of learning something new (although I did teach computers in a local college back in the old DOS days)And it keeps me busy and my head working

Where's your office?
We currently work out of our Mobile Home with limited space and equipment. My partner says I have to build a second level on our mobile home.We use every inch of space that is available to us
What's the toughest part of running your biz?
Well, as I said I'm 77 yrs old and my mind isn't as quick or as sharp as it used to be. So trying to learn new things and to think of all the things that are necessary to run a successful business are coming a little slow to me. But I think I've made significant progress so far.
What's the most fun part?
Learning. Also outdoor photo sessions and traing my eyes to see an object or subject that I can see possibilities by proper composition to take an interesting salable Photo
Anything you would have done differently?
Yes! I should have spent more time with my camera in learning what makes Professional Photos. I find now that some of the photos we took earlier on are not of the Quality that we want, so we wasted some time, but we learned and are taking Professional picture now.
What's next on the horizon for your biz?
To have more space so our studio would be set up more professionally. It's difficult to take professional Photos when you don't have a professional set up and equipment. To eventually get our own commercial printer.
What advice do you have for others?
Over my many years of experience the most important thing I learned is to have confidence in your self. I believe anyone can earn a living if they work at it. There are many ways to learn how to do what you want to. I happen to be able to learn by reading others may learn through visual or spoken means.
How do you use Idea Cafe to help your biz?
SANITY! Thats a good word, because the time you spend at your work and the complex problems you have to solve sometimes make you feel as though your leaning towards insanity. Idea Cafe would allow me to associate with other with similiar situations and help me feel that I'm not alone with the problems I have to face
