PLEASURE BOAT MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Start-up cost: $25
Potential earnings: $30 - $100 per boat per week; special work, like varnishing and painting, should be negotiated separately.
How to find clients: Leaflets distributed to marinas, yacht clubs, and dockside shops. Such ads can also be mailed to local boat owners, or posted on bulletin boards at local yacht clubs free of charge.
Equipment needed: Desk, phone, PC for records and ad preparation, mops, brushes, cloths, soap, wax.
WHAT YOU DO
Clean, wax, paint, and otherwise service pleasure boats in your area. You will work at yacht clubs, marinas, and docking facilities in your area. Your customers will be boat owners who don't have the time or the desire to clean, wax, or paint their vessels. You will clean their boats on a weekly basis and be paid weekly. If desired, you can follow the sun in this business, working in the North during the summer and moving South during the winter. Most of your work will be done outdoors in the sun.
