An Idea for a Small Business You Can Start

Start-up costs range $50 to $500,000+, earnings $5,000 to $2,000,000++, skills from knowing nothing to running an airline. Bon appetit!

Executive Shine (Next Day Shoeshine Service)

Start-up cost: $25-$50

Potential earnings: At a $5 per pair minimum charge for a regular shine with 25 pairs per week equals $125 minus equipment and tax etc. With a little hustle and some advertising I can see 50 -75 pair a week in a couple of months.

How to Find Clients: 1.Get your plan together and visit a local dry cleaning shop. Show your stuff, shine the owners shoes. Make a deal with the owner, share your profits 10-15%. Offer to have a high quality small sign made advertising your service.
2.Place flyers on cars in parking garages where executives park. You should check with building manager before doing this. In this case you would pick up and deliver to individual offices.

Equipment needed: You will need a couple of shoe brushes, many cotton rags, a range of polishes and assorted leather care products. All of this can be found at most grocery stores.

Qualifications: Practice, practice, practice. Well, its not that hard but you will need to get your speed up to make it worth your time.

WHAT YOU DO
Shine those shoes. Actually shoes need all kinds of care that you can charge extra for: condition, waterproof, scuff removal, new laces, re-black the edge of the sole etc.. Do a web search, keyword "shoeshine" or ask Jeeves.
This business will not make you a rich man or woman but it can certainly provide you with some seed money for your Big Dream.

About You:
My name is Danny Vinzant and I am into low tech money. I hope to start a sidewalk vending business soon, selling drinks and snacks to college students.
